The Flimmel tree was a species of carnivorous mushroom native to Xagobah. Running vertically down the tree's stalk below its umbrella-shaped pileus was a mouth filled with row upon row of razor-sharp crimson teeth and a pale tongue. When unsuspecting prey wandered near a Flimmel tree during its feeding hours, the tree would extend large slimy folds of fungus outwards like huge mynock wings. These folds would cover prey in sticky webs until they were wrapped up in a slime cocoon. As the slime suffocated the prey, the folds would slowly retract and pull them towards the tree's gapping maw. The trees were part of a large colony that shared a common root system, with the entire plant living many millennia. If one tree was hurt, the entire organism would be impacted.[1]
Boba Fett was almost consumed by a Flimmel tree when he came to Xagobah in search of Wat Tambor. He managed to escape by stunning the fungus with a Stokhli spray stick.
