"We celebrate that fiery spirit tonight. Those with lights, raise them. And everyone, prepare to raise your voice. We honor the spirit of Black Spire, the Fire of the Rising Moons. To those who would bring darkness, know this: now and ever, we bring the light. 'Til the Spire!"
―Tohan Lege[1]

Fire of the Rising Moons was a nighttime festival celebrated in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. In 34 ABY,[2] the festival was conducted by the modified R1-series astromech droid, Bard, who played recordings of his deceased owner Tohan Lege, known as the Lore-weaver. The voice of Lege introduced the event where colorful fireworks lit the sky, and observers raised their lights and voices in celebration of their freedom and to honor the heroes and legends of galactic history.[3]

Behind the scenes

"During Fire of the Rising Moons, villagers and visitors alike come together to celebrate their freedom and to honor the heroes and legends who came before them. As the skies over Batuu light up in bursts of color, iconic music associated with tales from across the galaxy ignites our imagination. It's a powerful moment you won't want to miss!"
―Disneyland website[3]

Fire of the Rising Moons was a guest experience at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The nighttime spectacular provided guests with an alternate view of the park's fireworks display set to iconic Star Wars music by John Williams.[3] As part of the 2024 Season of the Force, the show was first set to debut on April 5, 2024, but due to weather, the official premiere was pushed back to April 6.[4] The show was introduced by two new characters, Tohan Lege and Bard. Event audio was played in viewing areas across the land.[3] Beginning on May 24, 2024, Bard could be seen overlooking Docking Bay 5.[5]
