"I particularly recommend those included in Yim Relot's collaborative project Filling the Vacuum: Artistic Responses to the Missing."
―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1]

Filling the Vacuum: Artistic Responses to the Missing was a collaborative artistic project led by the artist Yim Relot. The piece aimed to act as a monument to all those who had vanished under the Galactic Empire's reign and the absence that they left.[1] In 35 ABY,[2] the historian Beaumont Kin recommended the works in the project in particular when discussing a number of artistic memorials to the vanished that[1] he[3] was deeply moved by in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[1]

Behind the scenes

Filling the Vacuum: Artistic Responses to the Missing was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]
