File JC-G052F9B38 was a file claimed to be originated from the Jedi Temple Archives. Among its contents, it featured a recording of a supposed conversation between Jedi Masters Yoda and Shaak Ti, in which Yoda insists Padawan younglings fight in the Clone Wars.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] Bail Prestor Organa obtained this file, and doubted its veracity.[1]

MASTER YODA: To war, the Padawans must go. Bond them to their masters, it will.

MASTER SHAAK TI: No doubt. But many are still children. Surely the younglings needn't be asked to fight and kill.

MASTER YODA: Seen, have you, the loyalty of the clones?

MASTER SHAAK TI: They lay down their lives for the Republic without fear and without question.

MASTER YODA: But only to the Senate do they answer. For millennia, the Jedi have protected and guided the Republic. Now the Supreme Chancellor possesses emergency powers and an army dangerous beyond compare.

MASTER SHAAK TI: And we, too, must have absolute loyalty from our Knights and Padawans. So that whatever our Council decides, all will follow. All will do whatever we ask.

MASTER YODA: Hope, we must, that such a need will never come.

  2. PenguinRandomHouse-Logo Star Wars: Edge of the Abyss on Penguin Books' official United Kingdom website (backup link) establishes the events of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear take place thirteen years before the events of Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss. Instagram-Logo Rebecca Roanhorse (@rebeccaroanhorse) on Instagram (post): "Title and updated release date of my upcoming STAR WARS novel announced at SDCC. THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS takes place a year before Andor S1." (backup link) states that Edge of the Abyss takes place a year before the events of Andor Season 1, which are set in 5 BBY per the reasoning here. Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY.
