Zaalbar's bowcaster was one of Zaalbar's only personal possessions. Over many years of exile, he made many modifications but it conformed greatly to the traditions of the Wookiee village of Rwookrrorro. When Zaalbar was captured by Gamorrean slavers in the Undercity of Taris, his bowcaster was confiscated but later retrieved after he had sworn a life debt to Revan.[1]

Zaalbar's bowcaster first appeared in the 2003[2] roleplaying game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The player was not required to keep it once obtained, and it could be sold at any vendor, or simply placed in any container.[1]
