- "Your highness."
"Oh. Thanks, Y-O."
"My pleasure." - ―Y-O serves Leia Organa a hors d'oeuvre
Y-O,[1] or Why-Oh,[2] was a protocol droid used by the House of Organa,[1] the royal house of the planet Alderaan.[3] It had blue sensors and silver plating.[1] In 9 BBY,[4] the droid served at a[1] royal reception[5] in the Royal Palace of Alderaan, during which Y-O offered Princess Leia Organa a tray[1] of hors d'oeuvres.[5] Organa took one and thanked the droid, who then moved away from Organa's table before the princess's cousin, Niano Organa, mocked her for thanking the droid, which he considered a lower life form.[1]
Behind the scenes
Y-O was voiced by Shelby Young[6] and physically portrayed by Daniel Bohman[7] in the first episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ television series,[1] which premiered on May 27, 2022.[8] Droid performer Chris Bartlett built the suit for the character.[7]
