The Tyan sector was a sector located in[1] the New Territories portion of[2] of the Mid Rim. By 0 ABY, it bordered the Droma sector Rimward, the Qiilura sector Coreward, the Irishi and Corthenia sectors spinward, and the Kesh and Alderath sectors in the trailing direction.[1]
The Tyan sector contained the Osskorn system,[3] the origin point of the Osskorn Stout beverage;[5][6] and the Vvan system, which contained the planet Tyan that was represented in the Galactic Republic by senator Galim Eddawan by around[7] 76 BBY.[8] The Entralla Route hyperlane ran through the Vvan system and connected it to the Irishi and Qiilura sectors, while another hyperspace route passed through both the Osskorn and Vvan systems and linked the Tyan sector to the Alderath and Corthenia sectors.[4]
By 12 ABY, the Tyan sector was a part of the New Republic. That year, the Imperial Remnant prevailed over the New Republic in a confrontation of the Galactic Civil War at Tyan.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Tyan sector was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas.[3] The StarWars.com article "Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim" later provided the first visual depiction of the sector.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Osskorn Stout in relation to the Osskorn system.
