- "Just work your mechanic magic, buddy."
"I-I'll try, but don't push the transcoil too hard." - ―Han and Pace
A transcoil was a piece of technology used in M-68 landspeeders.[1] By 13 BBY,[2] the human scrumrat Han used a stolen M-68 landspeeder in a race against the Dowutin Johnair. Han's aquaintance Pace warned Han not to push the transcoil past its limit. Han, however, did not listen to Pace's warning and strained the transcoil too far, causing it to explode and slowing the speeder down. Pace fixed the transcoil by connecting two wires at the back of the speeder.[1]
Behind the scenes
A transcoil indirectly appeared in "The Chase with Han," the first part of the second episode of the non-canon animated series LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars.[1] The episode was released on November 17, 2018.[3]
