- "Greetings citizen. My records indicate that you have been assisting fellow citizens and officials around Tatooine. Unfortunately, our databank had a 'accident', and I need to ask you some questions to fill in the blanks."
- ―Lieutenant Ogo, to a spacer
Ogo was a police officer who lived on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, he was a lieutenant in the Mos Eisley Police and served as planetary record keeper.[1]
Behind the scenes
Randomly generated depictions of Ogo
Lt. Ogo was a non-player character (NPC) in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[2] Because Ogo spawned under the generic "mos_eisley_police_officer" template, his gender and appearance were randomized under one of fifteen possible depictions and would fluctuate after each server reset.[1] Lt. Ogo was one of the "planet record keeper" NPCs added to the game with the "Publish 6" update, released on February 11, 2004.[3] These NPCs permitted to reset player quest progression status on the planets they were located. Ogo therefore allowed players to repeat pre-CU quests on Tatooine.[1]
