- Rex: "We've gotta scatter them. Use the sword and shield maneuver."
- Ezra Bridger: "Wait. What does that mean?"
- Kanan Jarrus: "We block, he fires."
- ―Captain Rex, Ezra Bridger, and Kanan Jarrus[2]
The Sword and Shield maneuver[2] was a battle tactic used by the Galactic Republic,[1] specifically members of the Jedi in tandem with clone troopers,[2] during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1] The tactic was used to scatter enemy battle droids. Even after the war's end, it was used by Clone Captain Rex, Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus, and Padawan Ezra Bridger in 2 BBY[3] during a battle on the planet Agamar.[2]
Behind the scenes
The sword and shield maneuver was first identified in "The Last Battle," an episode of Star Wars Rebels.[2]
