Snub-blasters were a type of easily concealable blaster pistol that had their serial numbers written on their grip.[1] Around 10 BBY,[3] the criminal Dug podracer Sebulba carried a snub-blaster while on the planet Malastare.[2] In 34 ABY,[4] thugs in the employ of the junk dealer Unkar Plutt on the desert planet Jakku carried snub-blasters with all the serial numbers removed.[1]
Behind the scenes
Snub-blasters were created as props for the film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which was released in 2015. The weapons were not identified in the film, but received a name in the reference book Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and released alongside Episode VII.
