- ―Dedra Meero
The Power 5 blaster was a model of blaster pistol manufactured by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc. and used by the Imperial Military,[1] such as with the hangar gantry officer Lieutenant Pol Treidum on the first Death Star[5] in 1 BBY.[6] It was created to compete with BlasTech Industries's DL-44 heavy blaster pistol. It succeeded on the market and became known as a legal, low-power alternative to the DL-44.[5] In 5 BBY,[7] Dedra Meero of the Imperial Security Bureau used a Power 5 blaster during the Uprising on Ferrix.[3] She later wielded a Power 5 when she attempted to apprehend Luthen Rael in 1 BBY.[4] Earlier in 4 BBY,[8] the Imperial Army trooper Corporal Pyke used a Power 5 blaster on Mina-Rau.[2]
