Olcatz was a terrestrial planet with features such as mountains and islands.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Olcatz first appeared in "The Duel: Payback", a non-canon short film directed by Takanobu Mizuno released as part of the third volume of the Star Wars: Visions series. The animated short, produced by Kamikaze Douga and ANIMA, was released on Disney+ on October 29, 2025.[1]
Director Takanobu Mizuno stated that the planet's name is an anagram of a place name on the side of Sea of Japan.[2] Olcatz is "オルカーツ" in Japanese, and rearranging this spells "ツルオカ",[1] a reference to Tsuruoka City in Japan. The crew of Kamikaze Douga went on location scouts to Mount Haguro in Tsuruoka City to find references for the area around the spring.[3]
