"Trins Evnar reported to Kazic Pendre, who, in turn, reported to a man named Jzoro Quanera. You need to report to Jzoro and convince him that you're ready to move up in the organization."
Captain Baize, to a spacer[2]

Kazic Pendre was a Human male businessman and criminal who lived on the planet Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

"I just want to get back what's mine. What I mean is that I designed a power cell that was more efficient and potentially cheaper to manufacture. But Kazic Pendre took my design notes and the schematic and left me with nothing. Would you get my design schematic for me?"
Shobbo Durron, to a spacer[3]

By the time following the Battle of Yavin, Kazic Pendre was the owner of Pendretronics, an engineering company based in Doaba Guerfel. Beyond his legal activities, Pendre was also a high-ranking member of the criminal organization known as the Chirq Council. Within the criminal group, Kazic Pendre had several people under his orders, including Trins Evnar, and reported only to the underboss Jzoro Quanera.[2]

In 1 ABY,[1] the Corellian Security Force started an investigation against the Chirq Council following the increase of ryll traffic on Corellia.[4] Captain Vitala Baize decided to infiltrate the organization with a CorSec agent using the identity of Pendre's henchman, Trins Evnar. In order to permit the infiltration mission, an independent spacer who previously worked for the CorSec killed Trins Evnar, as well as every other Chirq Council criminals who used to know him, including Kazic Pendre.[2] The CorSec agent later assumed Evnar's identity towards the underboss Jzoro Quanera and managed to infiltrate the organization.[5] The CorSec operation eventually led to the destruction of the Chirq Council.[6]

Around the same time, an engineer by the name Shobbo Durron designed a power cell that was more efficient and potentially cheaper to manufacture than those on the market. Just prior to his death, Kazic Pendre stole Durron's design notes and her schematic for the benefit of his own company, Pendretronics. Shobbo Durron later hired a spacer to recover her power cell schematic from Pendre. The spacer entered the Pendretronics headquarters and sliced Kazic Pendre's data terminal, successfully recovering the data.[3]

Notes and references

  1. 1.0 1.1 The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
