The Imperial Senate Guard was an elite unit of guards formed from the elements of the Senate Guard of the Old Republic that were loyal to Sheev Palpatine and the New Order. They inherited the duty of their predecessors by serving as protectors of the Imperial Senate, but also ensured that they remained loyal to the Emperor. The armor of Imperial Senate Guards was a blue-colored version of the red and black suits worn by the Emperor's Royal Guard.[1] By 2 BBY,[5] however, Senate Security personnel wore generic Imperial uniforms in a blue coloration with minor armor attachments instead of any kind of the regalia[6] that dated back to the Republic Era.[7] The Senate itself would be dissolved in 1 BBY, with the Imperial Senate Guard also dissolved by that point.[2]
