Behind the scenes

The droid model first appeared in "Chapter 1: Stranger in a Strange Land," the first episode of the live-action Disney+ television series Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett, which was directed by Robert Rodriguez[1] and aired on December 29, 2021.[2] The droids used in the series were depicted by real-life four-legged canine-inspired robots, named "Spot," developed by Boston Dynamics.[3]
