Este Meza served as the Senior Events Manager for Lucasfilm[2] from 2015 to 2020,[1] where he led the team that planned and executed various in-person Star Wars events including Celebration Chicago, Celebration Orlando, and other convention appearances. In his role, he also performed remote control work for BB-8 and R2-D2 in real-life appearances, such as the droids meeting children with life-threatening illnesses in hospitals.[2] Meza ideated the Millennium Falcon Experience, a walk-through of the ship which toured five U.S. cities during the press tour for Solo: A Star Wars Story.[3] Meza left Lucasfilm in early 2020,[1] shortly after being featured in an episode of the Disney+ series One Day at Disney[4] and its accompanying book.[2]
