Dressel was the homeworld of the Dressellians and primary world of the Dressel system.
Geography
By Human standards, it was a pleasant world with a mixture of climates, including plains, hills, and forests. The Dressellians first evolved on the sub-equatorial grasslands of the main continent, Breehara.
History
Discovered by Bothan scouts of the Clan Askar around 200 BBY, it was largely left alone by the Galactic Republic, although visited by Jedi scouts. The Askars recognized the Dressellians and left them alone, settling in the Dressellian Asteroid Belt instead. The Galactic Empire occupied the planet around 10 BBY. The occupation was fiercely resisted by the Dressellians, who joined the Rebel Alliance and were early members of the New Republic.
The planet had senatorial representation in both the New Republic and the Galactic Alliance. However, its representatives seldom attended congressional sessions unless encouraged to do so by their Bothan peers. However, following the Yuuzhan Vong War, as Dressellian society continued to advance, many sociologists predicted the planet become an increasingly valuable and important member of the Alliance.
The Yuuzhan Vong seized control of Dressel during their invasion of the galaxy.[4]
