DT-JZ nicknamed Jez was a DT-series sentry droid that worked alongside Captain A'Shar Farless at the Imperial security complex on the planet Scarif. The droid was given to the captain by his family to offer him protection while he served in the Galactic Empire. DT-JZ was playing with Captain Farless when Governor Wilhuff Tarkin arrived to complex. After giving a speech, Tarkin took Farless on a walk, leaving the sentry droid behind. Tarkin put Farless in charge of the complex but forced him to leave DT-JZ behind. Farless said his goodbyes to his droid companion and took off as DT-ZJ left with Governor Tarkin.[1]
