A flight crew clone

Clone flight crews were clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic that were trained to maintain starfighters and LAAT gunships. Many often served onboard fleets and large cruisers such as Venator-class Star Destroyers. The flight crew was also in charge of fueling and repairing any vessel that needed it after a battle, they were also responsible for unloading astromech droids for servicing.[1]

Flight crew clones, such as Switch, were often called "soft-shells" by their combat clone trooper brothers.[2]
