"Ho hum. Smashing stuff is fun, I guess, but I think maybe I've had enough."
―Alliin Mepou[1]

Alliin Mepou was a Human male Meatlump thug who lived on Corellia during the Galactic Civil War. By the time of the Battle of Yavin, Mepou was an old man and a very disillusioned Meatlump.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] the old Meatlump was smashing some generators in Coronet to please his lieutenant, Kaiya Merel, when he encountered a spacer. The spacer was working for Vani Korr, a Corellia Times reporter who was investigating the Meatlumps. Mepou confessed he could not retire from being a Meatlump unless a new person take his place. The spacer, who wanted to infiltrate the Meatlumps, accepted to replace Alliin and the old man finally retired. The spacer moved to work for Kaiya Merel while Alliin Mepou planned to go find some seashells on the beach, or jut sleep all day and watch holovids.[1]

Behind the scenes

Alliin Mepou appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] Alliin Mepou was added to the game with the update dubbed "Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King," released on June 19, 2008.[4]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
