JMM assassin droid

The JMM assassin droid was a model of assassin^[1]/espionage droid^[3] produced during the era of the Galactic Republic.^[4]

A JMM's head weighed ten kilos.^[5]

The droid information broker 8t88 had his head replaced by that of a JMM droid as a prank.^[3] The head was cut off and was swallowed by his pet, Grendel.^[5] Eventually recovered by Kyle Katarn, who retrieved the coordinates of the Valley of the Jedi held in its memory banks.^[2] In the process, he used the droid's head to strike Pic who was jumping on him; the hit smashed him into a bulkhead like a rag doll, killing him.^[5]

Imperial Grand Moff Bertroff Hissa was given the arms of a JMM droid after he lost his own during an accident.^[6]

Behind the scenes

The first mention of this droid in Kyle Katarn's Tale identifies it as an espionage droid, while The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia and Barely Tolerable: Alien Henchmen of the Empire use the term assassin droid.
