1983 Topps Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Series 1

1983 Topps Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Series 1 was a trading card set released by Topps in 1983.[1]

The set was based on Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and featured stills from the film and promotional photos, all within a red and yellow border. The backs of the cards include character profiles and tell the story of the movie.[1]

A sub-set of sticker cards were included, the backs of which included a portion of a larger image that could be pieced together with other cards like a puzzle.[1]

A second and final series of the set would follow.

Continuity

Card 36 features an image from a cut scene where Luke Skywalker hangs from a grate above the rancor pit. The scene appears in the Return of the Jedi novelization, Return of the Jedi: The Storybook Based on the Movie, and in behind the scenes sources.[3]
