- "Squadron Five, execute fell swoop formation!"
- ―Teso Broosh, to Squadron Five
The fell swoop formation was a flight maneuver used by TIE fighter pilots of the Galactic Empire. Around 3 ABY,[1] the elite pilots of the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing used the formation when Squadron Five were ambushed by the thought-to-be-disabled Star Destroyer Celerity in the Kudo system.[2]
Sometime during the Galactic Civil War, Titan Squadron notably used this formation during an engagement against the New Republic's Vanguard Squadron.[3]
Behind the scenes
The fell swoop formation was first mentioned in the comic TIE Fighter 2,[2] published on May 15, 2019.[4] The name made another appearance by a player controlled character's computer-generated voice in the multiplayer portion of the 2020 video game Star Wars: Squadrons.[3]
