Farnis was a Human male who served as a captain in the army of the Galactic Republic during the Galactic War against the Sith Empire. In 3640 BBY he greeted a group of Republic aligned individuals on the planet Ilum and prepared them to be transported to the space station of the Sith Lord Darth Malgus so that they could defeat him.
