Farbinda III was an astronomical object[3] located in the Farbinda system,[1] a part of the Trailing Sectors portion of[2] the Inner Rim.[1] During the reign of the Galactic Empire, it was the site of a colony of conscientious objectors. At one point, an Imperial strike team rounded up the colonists. Witnessed by the smuggler Tarn Mison, who had taken a job running supplies to the colony and had also arrived there at the time, the colonists were all executed despite offering no resistance. After subsequently struggling for several months with what he had experienced, Mison went on to join the Rebel Alliance[3] shortly after the Battle of Yavin.[4]
Behind the scenes
Farbinda III was introduced in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[3] The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Farbinda system, and therefore Farbinda III, in grid square N-14.[1]
