An archaeological expedition was led by the archaeologist Maheyya of the reconstituted Sith Empire on the jungle planet Onderon in 3627 BBY during the Third Galactic War between the Empire and the Galactic Republic. All of Maheyya's research team members became crazed and possessed in the ancient Sith crypt she sent them to investigate. Assistance from Imperial heroes assured the recovery of several relics, tablets, and the expedition team's data.

Shortly after a conflict between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire on the Republic world Onderon during the Third Galactic War, Imperial archaeologist Maheyya dispatched a research team to an ancient Sith crypt on the planet to uncover valuable artifacts. The team members entered the crypt but became crazed and possessed while inside and never returned.[3]

Maheyya subsequently solicited the assistance of Imperial heroes to enter the crypt and recover the ancient Sith artifacts which included a holocron fragment, a ceremonial urn, a sword, a ritual basin, and a holocron. Attempting to seize the holocron provoked an attack by a Sithspawn, which the heroes defeated.[3] While in the crypt, the heroes also recovered data gathered by the expedition team members[6] and found several ceramic and stone Sith tablets believed by archaeologists to have been lost forever.[5] The heroes successfully returned all these items to Imperial custody.[3]

The Imperial Onderon expedition appeared in Onslaught, the seventh Digital Expansion to the BioWare-LucasArts video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Imperial player characters of any class gain access to the Onderon daily missions after completing the expansion's main storyline.[1]
