No earlier than 5 ABY,[1] a six-month long Expedition on Hoth was to be undertaken by the New Republic's Department of Artifacts and Archival Goods Retrieval on[2] the Outer Rim planet[3] Hoth. After the rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra—who worked for the department—was informed by her boss[2] Director Meteora Gray[4] that she had been assigned onto a mission as she was needed on it, Aphra asked the director if[2] she[4] was sure she did not prefer to have Aphra go on the Hoth expedition instead. Aphra was ultimately unsuccessful in her efforts to escape her assigned mission.[2]
