The Ertraxi were a peaceful humanoid species with multiple eyes from the Wild Space planet Ertrax. At some point, a Galactic Republic starship crash-landed on the planet, and the Ertraxi eventually repaired the vessel and flew it offworld in order to contact other species. They subsequently made first contact with a group of explorers, who informed the wider galactic community of the discovery of the species and their homeworld, prompting traders, slavers, and would-be conquerors to attempt to exploit Ertrax.

Biology and appearance

The Ertraxi were a sentient species of humanoids who had multiple eyes.[1]

Society and culture

The Ertraxi had an essentially peaceful culture.[1]

When the species was discovered by off-worlders, the former displayed a trusting nature and did not suspect they could be facing exploitation.[1]

History

The Ertraxi hailed from[1] the Wild Space[2] planet Ertrax. At some point, a Galactic Republic starship crash-landed on Ertrax, leaving no survivors. The Ertraxi repaired the wrecked ship over the span of several years and then flew it offworld in order to make contact with other species and cultures.[1]

Shortly after, a group of explorers charting the far reaches of the Minos Cluster found a trail of Cronau radiation left behind by the starship and followed it, leading them to discover Ertrax and make first contact with the natives. After the explorers brought news of their discovery back to the wider galactic community, however, they learned the information had motivated many opportunistic traders, slavers, and would-be conquerors to travel to Ertrax in order to exploit the newly found world.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Ertraxi were introduced in the sourcebook Scum and Villainy.

The Ertraxi were introduced in the sourcebook Scum and Villainy.

The Ertraxi were first mentioned in Scum and Villainy, a 2008 sourcebook published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. The species was introduced as part of a roleplaying adventure seed that suggests two possible courses of action for the player characters regarding their discovery of Ertrax: The characters can either keep the reward offered for the information on the newfound planet, or they can forfeit the fee by returning to Ertrax and helping the Ertraxi protect themselves against the threat of exploitation, either by warning and arming the natives or by assisting them with gaining a Republic membership.[1]
