An Energy axe was a type of energized axe.[1]
Characteristics
An energy axe was an axe with a metal blade embedded with circuitry - when activated, the circuitry would energize, covering the axe blade in electric energy that enhanced the axe's power. When energized, the axe was capable of damaging durasteel, and could cut through and break open doors; glancing hits would cut deeply as well as deliver a nasty shock, while hits to an opponent's weapons could short them out.[2]
Relatively lightweight, the axe could be swung quickly, thrown with precision, could block and even deflect blaster bolts, and made an exceedingly dangerous close range melee weapon. Energy axes had two modes; a one-handed mode, and a two-handed mode where the handle extended and the blade shifted upward. In two-handed mode, an energy axe could be briefly charged to release an explosion of force and electricity that was sufficient to crack the ground.[2]
History
Ax Tagrin utilized an energy axe during the First Order-Resistance War.[2]
