The First Order maintained elite stormtroopers, a specialized variant of the standard stormtrooper, that were part of its special forces. Armed with SE-44C blaster pistols, they also utilized elite speeder bikes that were employed for high-risk missions. They wore black stormtrooper armor, featuring two red stripes on the left side of the chest-plate, a color scheme that matched that of their speeder bikes.[1]
Behind the scenes
Elite stormtroopers and their accompanying speeder bikes first appeared in a Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens toy pack, released as a part of the film's marketing campaign. However, neither the stormtrooper type nor their bikes actually appeared in the movie itself. They have continued to be absent from further Star Wars media or marketing, and have yet to receive an official name.[1]
