The Eirriss family was a family that operated the arms manufacturer Eirriss Ryloth Defense Tech and were supporters of the Twi'lek Resistance against the Separatist occupation of Ryloth during the Clone Wars. After the rise of the Galactic Empire the Eirriss family continued to support Twi'lek Resistance leader Cham Syndulla and his continuing Free Ryloth Movement to free the planet Ryloth from Imperial oppression. Consequently, weapons manufactured by the family's company, such as the Blurrg-1120 holdout blaster, were symbols of rebellion against the empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Eirriss family was first mentioned in the 2019 Star Wars canon reference book Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition.[1] The family and the company they operate share their name with the Star Wars Legends character Cesi Eirriss, who first appeared in the 1997 comic one-shot X-Wing Rogue Squadron ½ by Michael A. Stackpole. Eirriss was a Twi'lek pilot who flew with the Alliance to Restore the Republic.[2]
