An eelfish was a type of fish known for digging. While searching for a datapad in the hideout of the pirate Captain Qorvino on the planet Akiva[1] in 3 ABY[2] one hired gun ordered another to "make like an eelfish and get digging." When the other hired gun was confused by the phrase, the first sighed and clarified that they should just look for the datapad.[1]

Eelfish were mentioned in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which released on May 15, 2025.[3]
