The Eddel, or Eddelians, were a sentient species known for their quick wit. They were native to Fehern, a hospitable[1] Mid Rim[2] planet.[1] The Eddelians traveled throughout the Trax sector,[3] and their distinctively styled Eddelian starships, carrying Eddelian traders, were a common sight in neighboring star systems.[1]
The Eddelians were targeted by the Republic's successor state, the Galactic Empire, as part of its pro-Human, anti-alien rhetoric. The Empire declared war on the Eddelians and decimated the species, subjugating the few thousand survivors of the conflict.[1] The Empire took over their homeworld,[3] and many Humans immigrated there. The remaining Eddelians were forced to serve those colonists as enslaved workers. The Empire also destroyed most Eddelian technology during the conflict.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Eddelians were first mentioned in the 1991 roleplaying game sourcebook Star Wars Gamemaster Kit, written by Bill Smith and published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1]
