An EVA Pod in the junkyard behind Watto's Shop

The EVA Pod[1] was a type of vehicle present in the junkyard behind Watto's Shop in Mos Espa on Tatooine in 32 BBY.[2] It had previously been a repair and maintenance vehicle pod of unknown origin.[1]

Behind the scenes

The EVA Pod is actually a replica of a famous prop from the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, which resembled one of the designs of the then-recently proposed FlexCraft by N.A.S.A.. It was put in the background of Watto's junkyard in The Phantom Menace as a visual Easter egg.[2]
