Dyan-thread was a material that was used to construct fishing lines on[1] the Core Worlds planet[2] Chandrila. A Chandrilan fishing technique involved pulling up fish one at a time with lines made of braided dyan-thread.[1] By 5 ABY,[3] the technique was considered old, and the use of dyan-thread was limited to organic-led fishing rigs.[1]

Dyan-thread was mentioned in the 2017 novel Aftermath: Empire's End, the third novel in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy by Chuck Wendig.[1]
