"Jabba sends a lackey to do an assassin's job!"
"Wrong. He sent the best bounty hunter of his house."
Jhordvar and Boba Fett[2]

During the Clone Wars, a duel took place in the Dune Sea on Tatooine between the bounty hunter Boba Fett and the Noghri assassin Jhordvar.

The duel

"You know, Jhordvar, you should've surrendered when you had the chance. But you fought bravely, I'll give you that."
Boba Fett, after Jhordvar's death[2]

When Jhordvar tried to betray Jabba the Hutt, the crime lord placed a bounty on the Noghri assassin, who was tracked to his hideout in Tatooine's Dune Sea by the young bounty hunter Boba Fett. Fett offered Jhordvar the chance to accompany him back to Jabba's Palace, but the alien refused to surrender. After a brief but intense fight, Fett killed Jhordvar.[2]

Aftermath

"I did as you commanded, Lord Jabba. I gave the assassin Jhordvar the choice of returning with me, or accepting his own death. He chose the latter. Unfortunately for him. But not, O Mighty Jabba, for you."
Boba Fett, to Jabba the Hutt[2]

Following the duel, a desert sandstorm stranded Fett for several days in the Noghri's lair, with the alien's body exposed to the sand and heat. The sandstorm mummified what remained of Jhordvar and snapped off his hands.[2]

Fett took only the hands to identify Jhordvar and left the rest of the body in the desert. Upon Fett's return at Jabba's Palace, Bib Fortuna identified Jhordvar by a gold-green amaralite ring on one of the skeletal hands, and Fett received his bounty.[2]
