Duel on Centares

The title of this article is conjectural. Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A duel occurred on the planet Centares in 0 ABY between the Sith Lord Darth Vader and the bounty hunter Beilert Valance, as Vader was seeking the Rebel deserter Tyler Lucian in their effort to discover the name of the pilot who destroyed the Death Star, and Valance was attempting to prevent Vader from finding him. The duel ended when Valance was thrown into Centares' corrosive lakes, and Lucian committed suicide rather than be captured.

Behind the scenes

The death of Valance depicted in Star Wars (1977) 29 was retconned by the Star Wars (1977) 108 comic. In 108, Valance claims he entered into a coma while submerged into the corrosive lakes of Centares.
