The Droidnostics Center was an area of Star Tours' Tomorrowland Starport used for droid repair and maintenance, almost entirely staffed by droids themselves. The term "Droidnostics" refers to a droid diagnostics system.[1]
Around the time of the Battle of Death Star III, G2-4T served as the foreman supervising other droids. G2-9T was working on R5-D2 in the center's Sector 2 at the time, but was more interested in chatting with guests passing by than doing his work and was scolded for low productivity.[2] The cluttered area was cleaned by janitor droid max-W 100, and was also home to Mouse Droids and Bird Droids.[1]
Behind the scenes
The queue of Disney's original Star Tours attractions passed through this area. A playset based on Sector 2 to be used with action figures from the Star Tours toy line was once planned by Disney, but was never released.[3]
