A droid dispenser was a roughly cylindrical container, that could transport, dispense and possibly construct battle droids, used by the Trade Federation and later more predominantly by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars to continually dispense a supply of battle droids.
Droid dispensers saw action during the Battle of Geonosis, the capture of the Acclamator-class assault ship, Prosecutor and during the Battle of Kashyyyk, sending in B1 or B2 battle droids and occasionally Droidekas against the brave Clone troopers of the Galactic Republic. Some were also employed to dispatch reinforcements by Trandoshan slavers allied with the Confederacy.
Behind the scenes
In the video game Star Wars: Republic Commando, the droid dispensers will continue deploying droids until the dispenser itself is destroyed, it is not clear whether this is simply game mechanics or if the dispensers did indeed somehow have an unlimited supply of droids.
