Droid Mod

A Droid Mod was a type of droid intelligence which could be installed in a starship, acting as an integrated co-pilot.^[2][3][4]

History

Luthen Rael made use of a Fondor Droid Mod on his heavily modified Fondor Haulcraft.^[5][1] This droid mod had a swiveling set of Photoreceptors installed in the cockpit, was capable of speech (though with a somewhat neutral personality), and was capable of calculating hyperspace jumps, flying and landing the ship with skill, arming weapons, analyzing sensor readings, and many other ship functions.^[1][4][5] Ultimately the Fondor Droid Mod proved invaluable during Luthen Rael's confrontation with a Cantwell-class Arrestor Cruiser, the ability to multi-task and divide ship functions giving him a potent edge in combat and his subsequent escape.^[5]
