Drells were a species known for building many starships used by pirates. They also often took up roles as mercenaries, pirates, and smugglers, their strength and large size making them a formidable foe. Blaster bolts would have no effect on the Drells' skin, simply bouncing off. Similarly, stun rounds would also bounce off and the vast majority of slugthrowers would not be able to pierce their thick hide.
