"Double Cross on Ord Mantell" is a short story by Michael Mikaelian that originally appeared in Star Wars Galaxy Magazine 5. It was added to Hyperspace on October 15, 2004.
Plot summary
A Nalrithian Rebel agent named Phoedris Bos is stalked and killed by his egg mate, Cypher Bos, who then poses as him. Phoedris was arranging the capture of an Imperial shipment of credits to help fund the Rebel outpost on Hoth.
Continuity
This short story expanded upon Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell, an audio dramatization written by Brian Daley and released by Buena Vista Records in 1983. The audio drama was one of the several stories attempting to explain who “the bounty hunter on Ord Mantell” was that Han Solo tangled with between the events of Episode IV and Episode V.
Other bounty hunters included Skorr, whom Han dealt with in the 1981 Star Wars newspaper strip distributed by the Los Angeles Times Syndicate and later released as Classic Star Wars. Han had to deal with bounty hunter Alfreda Goot in Scoundrel's Luck, a solitary adventure written by Troy Denning and published by West End Games in 1989. There may have been another bounty hunter – an unnamed thug whom Han blasted in a single panel in Marvel Comics' Star Wars, issue #37, from 1980.
