The Dolgarak temple[3] was a structure located on the planet Dolgarak. It was situated at the base of the planet's two statues of prophecy, which represented the light and dark aspects of the Force.[1] It contained the Dolgarak library[2] that wrapped around the hexagonal base of the temple, documenting visions that[1] the Force Oracles[2] such as Ara saw in the stones at the temple base when they were exposed to rainfall.[1]
Behind the scenes
In writing "Journey to the Dark Head," Chung Se Rang was inspired by the real-world Tripiṭaka Koreana, which bears similarities to the library at the Dolgarak temple.
Screenwriter Chung Se Rang of "Journey to the Dark Head" was particularly inspired by the Tripiṭaka Koreana,[2] a collection of more than eighty thousand 13th-century wooden blocks engraved by Buddhist scriptures that is stored at the Haeinsa temple in South Korea,[4] with the temple on Dolgarak in the finished film also featuring a library of wooden blocks with writing on them.[1]
