Director General was a title used by Oviedo Engineering,^[1] a corporation that manufactured military equipment.^[2] Around 21 BBY,^[3] Lorca Oviedo, the director^[2] of Oviedo Engineering and a member of the^[1] Confederacy of Independent Systems,^[4] held the title. After Galactic Republic clone commandos discovered Oviedo's allegiance to the Confederacy on the^[1] Expansion Region^[5] moon Asturias, they brought him to the Republic's^[1] Core Worlds^[6] capital planet^[7] Coruscant for questioning, where he died of respiratory failure.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The title of Director General appeared in the flashbacks of the comic story "Honor Bound," which was published by Dark Horse Comics^[1] on February 23, 2005^[8] as part of the twenty-second issue of the Star Wars Tales comic-book series. The story was written by Ian Edginton and illustrated by Steve Pugh.^[1] In the real world, a Director General is the chief executive or administrator of an organization.^[9]
