The Dersonn system was located in the Tammuz sector,[1] a part of the Slice portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It contained the terrestrial celestial body Dersonn III.[3] By 3959 BBY, the star system was a part of the "civilized galaxy," the territory that had been widely explored by the Galactic Republic.[2]
At some point by 3951 BBY,[4] the Wookiee bounty hunter and enslaver Hanharr, who had previously been enslaved himself and harbored a hatred for other living beings, particularly Humans, caused the destruction of the population of Dersonn III. He also survived a freighter crash there, a fact that was witnessed by the Human bounty hunter Mira.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Dersonn system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square T-14.[2]
