Derem City was the capital city on the aquatic planet Kamino prior to the Great Flood.
History
Derem City was once the planetary capital of Kamino, until it was sunk by the Great Flood in over three kilometers of water. However, this depth meant that Derem City was also one of the most accessible of the ruins that made up the former Kaminoan civilization, and modern Kaminoans occasionally made pilgrimages to the ruins to contemplate their existence and remind them of their former society.[2]
The city itself was well-conceived and laid out, with glorious sunspires dotting the perimeter. These sunspires would eventually form the anchors for the Razoral Reefs. The city was well-connected to other parts of the continent through the highly efficient transit tubes, which had been bored through the bedrock and later formed underwater labyrinths; this system would later become home to several vicious predators. The city also housed to the former Ministration Hall, as well as the Chol Ka gardens. [2]
Exploration of the Derem City ruins uncovered a vast library that appeared to have been maintained by a group of Jedi Knights, as it contained a sea-crystal holocron that was later discovered to have been created by Qalsneek the Bull.[2]
