"Dekien, the unpolished gem of the Outer Rim. [...] Truly, it was the pinnacle of untouched beauty… Now the world of Dekien has been refashioned for your every pleasure."
―A holo guide[1]

Dekien was a planet located in the Dekien system within the Outer Rim.[1] At the time of the Sith rebellion, it was not heavily populated or developed. The Ronin, formerly a Dark Lord of the Sith who had led the rebellion, brought a shard from the kyber mirror of Shinsui Temple to Seikara Caverns and hid it within a grotto.[1]

During a twenty year span after the war ended, the Empire took interest in the world. The tour company Eternity Enterprises developed tours that departed from the capital city, Dazenma, to visit Seikara Caverns.[1]

Behind the scenes

Dekien appeared in the 2021 non-canon novel Ronin: A Visions Novel, by Emma Mieko Candon.[1] According to Candon, the industry on the planet was inspired by the Edo period's "floating world" lifestyle.[2] Like all names in the novel, Dekien's name is comprised of phonemes used in the Japanese language,[3] though the author does not remember the inspiration behind the name.[4]
