The inventor of dejarik was an individual who was born many years before the Clone Wars.[2] At one point, they invented the popular two-player board game known as dejarik,[1] also known as holochess.[3] They also invented a similar game, saigok, which the Twi'lek Kaasha Bateen regarded as a more "badass" version of dejarik. Bateen described the inventor as a "madman."[1]

The individual responsible for inventing dejarik was first mentioned in the 2018 novel Last Shot by Daniel José Older.[1]
