The Death Rainbow was an experimental superweapon created for the Galactic Empire under the rule of Emperor Palpatine.[1] Between 4 ABY and 5 ABY,[2] an Imperial stormtrooper wrote[1] in his[3] handbook, The Official Stormtrooper Training Manual, that prior to the construction of the Death Star battle station, Palpatine experimented with other superweapons such as the Death Rainbow along with the Death Cloud and the Death Moon.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Death Rainbow was mentioned in the 2016 non-canon young readers book LEGO Star Wars: The Official Stormtrooper Training Manual, which was written by Arie Kaplan.[1]
